Notice to Bidders and of Public Hearing
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by Floyd County Board of Supervisors on the proposed contract documents (plans, specifications, and form of contract) and estimated cost for the for the Floyd County Law Enforcement Center & Courthouse Upgrades Project on September 10, 2019 at 9 a.m. in the Board Room of the Courthouse, 101 South Main Street, Charles City, Iowa 50616.
The Construction of the Floyd County Law Enforcement Center and Courthouse Upgrades shall include work required to construct a law enforcement addition and renovations to the existing courthouse. This includes but is not limited to: excavating, paving, landscaping, concrete, precast, masonry, structural steel, carpentry, casework, roofing, insulation, security doors, doors, sectional doors, aluminum windows and storefronts, finishes, detention equipment, food service, laundry, mobile shelving and shelving, sprinklers, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, fire alarm, communications, data and security electronics in compliance with the requirements of contract documents.
Sealed bids for the work comprising each improvement must be filed before 2 p.m. on September 5, 2019 in the Auditor’s Office and will be opened and bids tabulated at 2:15 p.m. on September 5 in the Board Room for consideration by the Board at its meeting on September 10, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.
A prebid meeting will be held at the Courthouse on August 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. It is recommended, but not mandated, for bidders to attend. The new construction work shall commence immediately upon notice to proceed. This will be issued after September 10, 2019 by the Board.
